Classical Homeopathy has a very different approach than most medical care systems. Normally a person will go to a doctor for a specific problem or symptom. They are then given a medicine to make the problem go away.

But the symptom is there for a reason. And if that reason continues to exist then the symptom will either return in the same form or it will appear as a completely different set of problems, usually called a ‘disease.’ This occurs because most remedies are used to suppress the body’s symptoms and the core issues are never dealt with.

Homeopathy, however, does not attempt this type of suppression but instead focuses on a true cure. Assuming the body is intelligent and produces a set of symptoms for a reason, homeopathy chooses to strengthen the body in a very specific manner. This strengthening then allows the body to deal with the root of the problem and use its innate intelligence to heal itself. Once this occurs the body no longer has a need to produce the symptoms.

In the case of HGH, a homeopathic formula will assist the body in using its innate abilities so that it can work itself back into the balance it once had. The body is stimulated to operate on a very deep cellular level and use its own intelligence to get at the root causes of what medical science is now calling the disease of aging.

Beginnings

Homeopathy was founded around 1805 in Germany by a medical doctor Samuel Hahnemann. For the past 200 years it has been very common through all of Europe. The Latin American countries, India and many other areas of the world have also embraced it for at least the past century.

In the States, prior to 1900 about 15% of MD’s were also homeopaths. Then with the increase of pharmaceuticals and a strong discouragement by the AMA, homeopathy was dropped by most physicians and became relatively unknown.

However, this has changed over the past 15 years. More and more people have been taking responsibility for their own health through the use of vitamins and food supplements and the exploration of alternative medicine. All of which have helped lead to a resurgence in the use of homeopathic medicine.

Preparation of Homeopathic Medicines

The preparation of homeopathic medicines, although simple in method, requires meticulous care and conscientiousness in practice, to ensure the quality and reliability of the finished product.

With soluble plant and animal substances, the starting material is called a mother tincture. This is a water/alcohol extract prepared either by maceration (cold process), infusion or distillation (heated process), using different strengths of alcohol according to the starting substance. Insoluble metals and minerals begin as finely ground powders.

These substances become homeopathic remedies when they are "potentised" and thus become potencies.

The liquid homeopathic potencies are prepared by successive dilutions in alcohol and water. There are two methods of dilution (what is dilution?), decimal and centesimal, governed by dilution ratios of l:10 (denoted X or D), and l:100 (sometimes denoted C) respectively. The number of such dilutions denotes the potency.

For example to prepare Arnica 6 (or 6C):

One part of Arnica mother tincture is added to ninety nine parts of alcohol/water and "succussed" - shaken vigorously.

The result is Arnica 1C. One part of Arnica 1C is then added to ninety nine parts diluent and succussed, to give Arnica 2C. The same procedure is used to produce higher potencies. For the decimal (X or D) potencies one part of mother tincture is added to nine parts of diluent, and the dilutions continue 1:10.

Liquid potencies can be used to medicate many pharmaceutical forms: tablets, pills, granules, ointments, suppositories and liquids.

Insoluble mineral and metal substances are prepared by "trituration". This is a process whereby one part of the solid substance is finely divided in a mortar and triturated thoroughly with either nine or ninety nine parts of pure lactose as the diluent. Mineral and metal substances are available in powder form only up to 5X potency. From 6X onwards they become soluble and can thus be used to medicate any pharmaceutical form.
